Nature poll — is it OK for AI to write science papers?

Nature surveyed 5,229 researchers about AI-assisted drafting, editing, translation and peer review; the public supplement includes its methods, scenarios and anonymized responses.

What is reported

Responses differ by task and disclosure conditions. The public dataset is useful for examining these distinctions rather than treating acceptance of AI as a single yes/no question.

Before you use it

The sample combines voluntary responses from three recruitment channels, with low email response rates. The news article requires access; its supplementary methods and data are public.
